So it’s finally out! Miss Americana is on Netflix and I’m really excited for you to see it. I want to thank Lana Wilson for her endless curiosity and for wanting to make this film. It’s pretty wild to be sharing this much of my life because it’s pretty scary to be vulnerable! taylor has never once in her career asked us for help in fact she said during 1989 that she was so thankful that we stood up for her when her hands were tied behind her back so the fact that she is turning to us for help in a situation that she can not personally get out of is so complex and big and i’m so angry she is in this situation but so glad she is able to be so transparent with us
I think it really needs to be emphasized that this is not only about Taylor. She’s far from the only one who’s been in this situation, she’s just the only one who’s able to speak out. And that is precisely why she’s not staying silent. This is something that concerns every artist in the industry.
weird how they didn’t care when it was the live lounge (recorded) or the tiny desk concert (also recorded) or the prime day concert (recorded again) or good morning america (recorded and aired on the same network as the AMAs)….their motives are so clear and it’s plainly obvious they’re only doing this now specifically because being named as the AMAs’ first female artist of the decade is a major, once in a lifetime honor and they wanted to make sure she couldn’t just bask in that spotlight
Also, abusive people use people and things important to you to get you to talk to them. Scooter kept saying he just wanted to talk to her. She’s made it clear she won’t be in a room with him.
What if the reason she hasn’t given us the album title yet is because this isn’t the lead single…
